Position Overview
The Buyer/Planner role is essential for overseeing material replenishment and management. This position ensures that materials are available by maintaining optimal inventory levels based on Kanban principles, facilitating timely assembly and delivery to customers. Collaboration with the cell leader on the production floor is crucial for managing scheduling and Kanban boards, ensuring accurate data reflects customer demand.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the Kanban Boards to procure materials necessary for uninterrupted operations.
- Lead daily Stand Up Meetings with cell leaders to review current and future demand, formulating plans to meet customer needs while optimizing costs.
- Monitor inventory within the Focus Factory, adjusting Kanban levels as required.
- Audit the Kanban Process to ensure proper material management, identifying discrepancies such as missing cards or materials.
- Act as a liaison between the production floor and customers, addressing issues and managing customer expectations to ensure timely deliveries.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing key performance indicators (KPIs) such as Efficiency, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Innovation.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Familiarity with Lean methodologies and a solid understanding of Kanban principles, along with knowledge of product components and assembly processes.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with hourly staff.
- Strong mathematical skills and well-developed verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Excel for data analysis.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
