Sickle Cell Anemia Medical Director Position in Charleston, SC

About the Role:
The American Society of Hematology is seeking a highly qualified Medical Director to lead our Sickle Cell Disease Program. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to improve patient care and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement clinical programs and services to improve patient care and outcomes
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care to patients with sickle cell disease
- Conduct research and quality improvement initiatives to advance the field of sickle cell disease
- Develop and manage budgets and resources to support program operations
- Supervise and mentor staff to ensure high-quality patient care and program delivery
Requirements:
- Board certification in Hematology
- Eligibility for licensure in the state
- Record of scholarship and research in sickle cell disease
- Experience in program leadership and management
Preferred Qualifications:
- History of collaboration and teamwork
- Track-record of institutional and community service
- Demonstrated career progression in preparation for a position of this scope and complexity
- Experience with developing or administering budgets
- Prior experience in directing and supporting research and educational programs
