Senior Engineering Manager, Site Reliability

GEICO is in search of a Senior Engineering Manager specializing in Site Reliability to guide a dedicated team of engineers in crafting cutting-edge solutions, enhancing current systems, and addressing pivotal operational challenges. The successful candidate will possess substantial technical knowledge in application performance, cloud infrastructure, and overall system reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Director to oversee project dependencies and guarantee on-schedule project delivery
  • Recognize and mitigate project risks
  • Collaborate with product teams to resolve performance challenges
  • Guide team members in performance assessments
  • Create and uphold comprehensive documentation

Required Qualifications:

  • In-depth understanding of Site Reliability Engineering principles
  • Proficiency in contemporary programming languages such as Go, Java, and Python
  • Familiarity with cloud computing technologies and platforms
  • Strong grounding in algorithms and data structures
  • Exceptional communication and leadership abilities

Experience Requirements:

  • Over 6 years in software engineering
  • More than 5 years in a large-scale operational environment
  • At least 5 years in a supervisory role
  • A minimum of 2 years in automated testing

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related discipline
