About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Crisis Peer Counselor to join our Mobile Crisis Outreach Team (MCOT) in San Juan. As a key member of our team, you will provide peer support services to individuals experiencing a behavioral health crisis, promoting hope, empowerment, and recovery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide peer support to validate clients' experiences and encourage active participation in their recovery.
  • Serve as a mentor to clients, promoting hope and empowerment.
  • Assist individuals in identifying and accessing community and natural supports, including mental health and chemical dependency treatment, peer support groups, and basic needs.
  • Provide reassurance and support to family, friends, and natural supports of clients.
  • Engage in active listening with clients.
  • Assist program staff in monitoring clients' symptoms and behavior, and formulating treatment goals.
  • Advocate for clients as needed.
Requirements
  • Current Peer Counselor Certification preferred.
  • Experience as a Peer Counselor preferred.
  • Lived experience with a behavioral health or substance use diagnosis required.
  • Valid Washington State Driver's License and vehicle insurance, if applicable.
