Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our team at Highland Industrial Staffing. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of electrical systems at the Nashville International Airport.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide electrical code guidance and direction on new equipment installations and ensure all new equipment/projects are wired to meet code/standards
  • Install and repair control and distribution apparatus, including motors, relays, switches, thermostats, circuit-breaker panels, etc.
  • Install and connect power supply wiring, cables, conduit, and electrical apparatus for machines and equipment in new and existing systems and facilities following diagrams, schematics, or blueprints
  • Diagnose and resolve problems in electrical circuits, systems, and equipment using testing instruments and equipment
  • Test continuity of circuits to ensure compatibility and safety of components using testing instruments
  • Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit
  • Receive and complete work orders
  • Select material and hardware and make time and materials estimates
  • Maintain accurate records on material and labor used
  • Maintain inventory of company-owned tools, equipment, and materials
  • Inspect jobs upon completion and ensure areas are clean
  • Work with construction contractors, airport representatives and supervisors to complete projects
  • Detect needed repairs on buildings, grounds, and equipment following established inspection procedures
  • Respond to emergency calls as needed
Requirements
  • Journeyman Electrician License, State of Tennessee (required)
  • Must have at least three to five (3-5) years of experience in the commercial electrical field
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Knowledge of electrical circuits and wiring and operating principles of motors
  • Knowledge of local electrical codes
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and written reference material
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve problems
  • Ability to use hand and power tools
  • Must possess a valid drivers' license (with a clean driving record)
  • Must be able to work as scheduled
Work Environment

This full-time, non-exempt position will be located on-site, at the Nashville International Airport in Nashville, TN. Employees work various schedules as this is a 24 hour/day, 7 day/week operation. The work week will be a schedule of 40 hours in total, with most of our shifts scheduled for either Sunday to Wednesday, or Wednesday to Saturday.

The schedule for this position will be determined by the requirements of the airport and the company, with the additional expectation that our staff can be flexible with regards to potential changes in work schedules, when needed.

All schedules will include working on holidays that fall on scheduled workdays.
