Position Overview:
We are in search of a proactive and detail-oriented Financial Controller to become a vital part of our high-achieving finance team. This permanent role presents a unique chance to make a significant impact in a dynamic, innovative, and collaborative setting. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles, particularly in financial statement preparation, journal entries, month-end closing, and general ledger management. Experience in property accounting, especially in residential sectors, is highly valued. Proficiency with HUD regulations and Yardi software is essential.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with established standards.

2. Create journal entries and perform account reconciliations while maintaining thorough and precise records.

3. Support month-end closing activities, including the preparation and posting of journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analyses.

4. Oversee the general ledger, ensuring data accuracy and timely updates.

5. Execute property accounting tasks, including preparing and reviewing financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for residential properties.

6. Ensure adherence to HUD regulations and guidelines.

7. Utilize Yardi software for effective management and organization of accounting data.

8. Collaborate with various teams to enhance processes and uphold financial integrity.

9. Assist with internal and external audits, providing timely and accurate information as needed.

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is required.

2. At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within the finance sector.

3. Strong knowledge of financial statement preparation, journal entries, month-end closing, and general ledger accounting.

4. Experience as a Property Accountant, particularly in residential property accounting.

5. Familiarity with HUD regulations and guidelines.

6. Proficiency in Yardi software.

7. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.

8. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

9. Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

10. CPA or CMA designation is a plus.
