Gluer Operator

The Gluer Operator is responsible for ensuring the safe operation of gluers, producing high-quality cartons at a high rate of speed to meet production standards with minimal waste.
Key responsibilities include:
- Completing all hourly checks and maintaining quality consistent with cGMP practices and specifications.
- Completing all production and process control documentation.
- Relieving crew members for breaks and lunches, and communicating with crew members to resolve any problems that may arise quickly.
- Completing make readies on all gluers efficiently and completing all key areas of the Start Up Checklist prior to sign-off and start-up.
Requirements include:
- Determining machine speed and knowing approximate production at all times.
- Exceeding minimum production standards.
- Knowing approximately how much more cartons to glue and how many more cases are needed to complete an order.
- Checking and understanding all detection systems, electronic counters, and sensors.
- Able to make machine adjustments in order to maintain machine at safety, quality, and production standards.
- Promoting teamwork within crew to minimize machine downtime.
- Checking for scrap and quality defects on flat stock; continuously checking for quality defects of the finished product.
- Striving to find ways to reduce variability in manufacturing processes to increase quality.
