Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Office Associate I to join our Imaging Department team. As a Medical Office Associate I, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, managing patient registration, and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greets patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner, following scripting protocol as set forth by the department.
  • Answers telephone calls in a timely and courteous manner, following department script and AHS standards.
  • Demonstrates consistent customer service excellence and acts as a liaison to patients and families, using service recovery where appropriate.
  • Distributes proper history forms to patients prior to procedures, prepares paperwork and educational materials for the distribution of contrast media to outpatients, and directs questions to appropriate clinical staff.
  • Registers patients in EPIC according to AHS standards, keeping patient information confidential and accurately obtaining all required demographic information for computer entry.
  • Verifies insurance is active and proper authorization is obtained prior to registration, ensuring patients are informed regarding Notice of Privacy, consent to treat, and billing.
  • Operates various equipment, including photocopiers, fax machines, CD burners, printers, telephones, paging systems, and CYRACOM language services.
  • Communicates daily with pre-cert department on outstanding appointments for the next day, ensuring patients are notified before they present for an exam if pre-certification has not been obtained.
  • Treats fellow employees in a respectful and professional manner, ensuring open communication between peers and maintaining open communication with supervisors.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Individual must be customer-focused and have demonstrated ability to multi-task.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior administrative experience in an Imaging facility.
  • Prior Epic experience.
