Job Title: RN Gero Psych

Starr Regional Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for our Gero Psych Department. This is a permanent, full-time position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition, establishing a plan of care that involves the patient according to their capabilities and desires.
  • Administer medication, collect specimens, provide clinical treatments, and perform other medical care treatments as needed.
  • Document patient care given and monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
  • Evaluate learning needs of patient and/or family and provide patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Work as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum Education: Associate's degree in Nursing
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Nursing
  • Required Licenses: Registered Nurse, Current RN License in the State of TN or another compact state
  • Required Skills: Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Critical thinking skills, Decisive judgment, Ability to work with minimal supervision
