Responsibilities

As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for performing specialized respiratory care, including ventilator management, nebulizer treatment, chest PT, drawing arterial blood gases, oxygen therapies, external ventilation support, and some pulmonary function assessments. You will also be responsible for educating patients and arranging home respiratory care services and patient therapy follow-up assessments.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have an Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited Respiratory program, be certified as a CRT by NBRC, and obtain RRT within 1 year upon hire. You will also need to be actively licensed in the state of Nebraska and/or Iowa as a Respiratory Care Practitioner, and have BLS or BLS instructor certification through AHA. Additionally, you will need to obtain ACLS certification within 3 months of hire, PALS within 6 months, and NRP within 9 months.
