As an Infectious Disease Physician at Midway Specialty Care Center, Inc., you will specialize in the prevention and treatment of communicable diseases. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure proper disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. You will consult with patients to determine the appropriate course of treatment and recommend and order tests to determine the extent of illness or help diagnose conditions.
Duties and Responsibilities- Provide medical examinations, treatments, and other medical services within the field of Infectious Diseases to patients accepted by Midway Specialty Care Center, Inc.
- Perform duties reasonably requested by Midway Specialty Care Center, Inc., including responsibilities set forth in agreements with insurers, HMOs, or other third parties.
- Act in a manner consistent with applicable laws concerning the practice of medicine, national or local supervisory boards, and professional ethics.
- Comply with policies, procedures, rules, and regulations adopted by Midway Specialty Care Center, Inc.
- Keep and maintain records of services rendered and prepare reports, claims, correspondence, and other documentation as required.
- Perform duties at places required by Midway Specialty Care Center, Inc. or the reasonable interests and needs of patients.
- Utilize best efforts to participate with third-party payors, including Medicare and other programs.
- Adhere to the Company's Disruptive Physician and/or Provider Policy.
- Treat staff members with dignity and respect and refrain from making disparaging remarks.
- Work with electronic health record systems and attend summits, staff meetings, and other meetings as needed.
- Complete annual mandatory trainings and maintain unrestricted active staff privileges at local hospitals and medical facilities.
- Participate in group office on-call coverage and oversee assigned APRNs.
- Maintain professional attire and appearance and write and speak in a professional manner.
- Adhere to all Company Policies & Procedures.
- Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment with a high level of integrity and ethics.
- Excellent skills in conflict resolution, oral and written communication, setting of strategic direction, and ability to lead teams.
- Familiarity with quality, safety, and population health initiatives.
- Possession of a medical degree from an appropriately accredited educational institution.
- Current board certification in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases.
- Federal Drug Enforcement Agency License.
- Active medical license in the State of Florida.
