Responsibilities
  • Conduct Comprehensive Assessments

Review medical histories, collaborate with healthcare colleagues, and understand patient needs to develop effective treatment plans.

Develop and Implement Treatment Plans

Establish specific goals for rehabilitation or recovery, and design customized exercise programs to improve strength, flexibility, endurance, and coordination.

Provide Hands-on Techniques

Use joint mobilization, soft tissue manipulation, and manual stretching to enhance mobility and relieve pain, and apply modalities like ultrasound, electrical stimulation, heat, and cold therapy to aid tissue healing.

Guide Patients and Families

Provide education on conditions, treatment plans, and injury prevention related to body mechanics and ergonomics, and develop pain management strategies to reduce pain and improve quality of life.

Communicate Effectively

Collaborate with healthcare team members, including physicians, nurses, and OTs, to optimize patient care, and provide personalized home exercise programs to support ongoing recovery.

Document Patient Progress

Keep accurate patient records, documenting assessments, treatments, progress notes, and changes in the patient's condition, and follow ethical and legal standards in patient care.

Requirements
  • Valid Physical Therapy State License
  • CPR and BLS Certification
