Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for estimating quantity takeoffs for drilling and blasting bids, conducting field surveys with GPS equipment, and coordinating with blasters for scope of work evaluation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the MDB GROUP, LLC safety culture by following all company safety policies and practices.
  • Utilize Carlson Takeoff Software to perform quantity takeoffs for drilling and blasting bids.
  • Communicate with trusted customers to check quantity takeoffs and mutually agree to the scope of work on bidding projects.
  • Perform field surveys with total station or GPS survey equipment to create a top of rock surface.
  • Maintain clear, accurate, and timely job files of all projects that are bid or ongoing.
  • Perform regular job site surveys to determine percent complete for quantities and costs on projects.
  • Provide leadership in job start-up planning to review the scope of work with the blaster in charge.

Requirements:

  • B.S. Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or direct industry equivalent experience.
  • Good communication skills with both internal and external customers.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record as defined by the company insurance carrier.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Strong technical communication skills (reading and writing).
  • Organized with a strong sense of priority, urgency, and commitment to deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
  • The ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent interpersonal and people skills.

Work Environment:

Occasional travel throughout our operating region.

Commitment to work the hours required to meet the needs of our field operations.

Working as a team player with several managers.

Effectively maintaining multiple priorities.
