Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Food Service Aide to join our team at St. Joseph's Health. As a Food Service Aide, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our food service department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and operate tray assembly lines for patient feedings, adhering to departmental and regulatory standards.
  • Operate dish machines, prepare special nourishments, and deliver trays to patients.
  • Serve and distribute food and supplies, snacks, and nourishments to patients and staff.
  • Perform cashiering duties in the Employee Cafeteria, including ringing up sales accurately and making correct change for customers.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Assist with sanitation and replenishment tasks in the kitchen, cafeteria, and patient service areas.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand written instructions.
  • No previous experience required, but three to six months of on-the-job training and orientation are provided.
  • Certification as a Food Handler from the City of Paterson or similar food safety certification is preferred.
