Job Title: Medical Surgical Nurse

Job Specialty: Medical Surgical Job Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12-Hour Days, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours per Week Experience: Minimum of 2 Years License: Current RN Licensure Required Certifications: BLS and PALS Must-Have: - 3-5 Years of Nursing Experience, Preferably in a Rural Hospital Setting- Strong Assessment and Critical Thinking Skills- Experience with Telemetry Monitoring Job Description:

Deliver exceptional care to a diverse patient population on a 16-bed Medical Surgical unit. Maintain a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio, ensuring high-quality, personalized care in a supportive environment. Provide compassionate nursing care to patients with various medical conditions, including respiratory issues, cellulitis, and congestive heart failure. Monitor patients using Nihon Kohden telemetry and interpret telemetry strips independently. Collaborate with a small team, including a clinical care coordinator and a charge nurse who takes patient assignments. Assist in outpatient infusions as needed. Engage in comprehensive orientation during the first week, covering HR processes, infection control training, equipment familiarization, and hands-on experience with a preceptor. Participate in high patient turnover with frequent admissions and discharges throughout the day. Support staff includes 1 CNA to assist. Access to equipment includes high-flow oxygen and Vapotherm. More complex respiratory support is transferred to ICU. Shifts are scheduled 6 weeks in advance to accommodate traveler preferences. Weekend commitment is required every other or every third weekend; holiday volunteering is also available. Option to assist as a safety sitter or in other supportive roles. Dress Code: Pewter scrub tops with black shoes and pants; colored tops permissible if layered with a pewter outer garment. Utilize Cerner Corporation - Millennium charting system to maintain thorough records.
