Job Description: US Economist Position - Fixed Income Team

We are looking for a talented US Economist to join our team in Newark, NJ. The successful candidate will be responsible for tracking economic and political developments to help develop and refine our US economic outlook.

About the Role:

  • This is a hybrid position whereby the Associate will be typically expected to be present in our Newark, NJ office three days per week.
  • The position reports to the Chief US Economist.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing access to new data sets and supporting the analysis.
  • Further developing macroeconomic and financial databases and automating related chart books.
  • Supporting the research and other analytical work of regional economists on the team.

Requirements:

  • B.A. or M.A. in economics, statistics, mathematics, computer science, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience focused on the US economy in a financial institution, central bank or think tank.
  • Hands-on experience with macroeconomic and financial data.
  • Strong econometric, data management and programming skills (e.g., Haver, Macrobond, Stata, Eviews, Python).
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Capacity to work well both independently and as a team member.

Estimated Salary: $95,000 - $115,000 per year, depending on experience.
