Pipefitter II Specialist

About the Job:
Delphinus Engineering is seeking a skilled Pipefitter II to join our team in Bremerton, WA. As a Pipefitter II, you will be responsible for performing a variety of shop and shipboard pipefitting trade functions, including repair and removal of old structural materials, installation and fit-up of new structural materials, and fabrication of complex fluid system piping and hangers and supports.

Responsibilities:
• Applies basic pipefitting and brazing processes to join, fabricate, or repair fluid system piping and associated hangers and supports.
• Proficient in bending pipe with multiple bends in one dimension.
• Qualified to braze at least one base metal and filler metal combination.
• Works from blueprints, engineering sketches, and specification requirements to determine materials and construction process required to fabricate component parts to develop a complete unit as designed.
• May lay out and mark points on parts or subassemblies using rule, square, scribe or templates.
• May position pieces to be welded or brazed into jigs, holding fixtures, guides, and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools.
• Knowledge of the processes and procedures necessary for the proper removal of old equipment and piping systems with minimal damage to surrounding materials.
• Maintains certification in the brazing procedure(s) as required by Quality Assurance Manager.
• Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
• Participates in special projects as required.

Requirements:
• Must have a High School Diploma or GED, plus technical/vocational training or equivalent combination.
• Must have 5 years of relevant experience in marine welding/fitter trade gained through formal apprenticeship or equivalent training.
• Thorough knowledge of welding and brazing standards and brazing procedures.
• Current brazing Certification for Cu and CuNi piping materials.
• Skill to make acceptable brazes as determined by either peel test or UT test.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and specifications.
• Advanced knowledge of Brazing tools and procedures.
