Job Summary:

As a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality anesthesia care to patients undergoing various surgical, obstetrical, and other procedures. Under the medical supervision of an Anesthesiologist, you will administer general and regional anesthesia, ensuring the safety and comfort of patients across all age groups.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate patients pre-operatively through thorough interviews and examinations.
  • Collaborate with Anesthesiologists to select anesthetic agents based on pre-operative assessments.
  • Monitor patients' responses to pre-medication and anesthesia, taking necessary actions to maintain stability.
  • Communicate effectively with surgeons and Anesthesiologists regarding patient concerns.
  • Ensure anesthesia equipment is in safe operating condition, preparing and administering medications as needed.
  • Provide post-operative care, evaluating patients within 24 hours and taking necessary actions to ensure a smooth recovery.
  • Participate in education and training of student nurse anesthetists.
  • Maintain accurate records of controlled substances and equipment, adhering to departmental guidelines.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Anesthesia program.
  • Registered Nurse License (California) and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (California) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Basic Life Support certifications.
  • National Provider Identifier and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist National Certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in anesthesia for complex procedures involving extensive monitoring and fluid management.
  • Strong technical and clinical skills, with ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work collaboratively with healthcare teams.
