Position Overview:
The Mental Health Technician (MHT) plays a crucial role within the multidisciplinary treatment team, offering essential support for the therapeutic treatment plan of patients. This position requires direct communication with the Registered Nurse to relay vital patient information.

Key Responsibilities:
- Observe and document patient information relevant to their treatment plan.
- Facilitate the admission process for new patients by following established protocols.
- Assist in the discharge process of patients.
- Maintain continuous observation of patients to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Lead educational sessions, community activities, and goal-oriented groups for patients.
- Support nursing staff by measuring vital signs and assisting patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
- Make entries into the patient's legal and medical records as required.
- Perform light clerical tasks, including record filing and answering phones.
- Undertake general housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment for both patients and staff.

Qualifications:
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of one year of experience in a healthcare setting.
- Ability to lift patients, equipment, and supplies, with a minimum lifting capacity of 50 pounds.
- Willingness to assist patients with personal hygiene and laundry tasks.

Desired:
- Degree in Social Work, Recreational Therapy, Nursing, Human Services, or a related field.
