Responsibilities- Clinical Care: Coordinate patient care following established standards of practice, including reviewing schedules, greeting patients, and documenting patient information.
- Staff Support: Provide mentorship and serve as a resource to staff and management in problem identification and resolution.
- Vital Signs: Obtain and accurately document patient vital signs, weight, and report any abnormalities to physicians.
- Treatment and Education: Assist with specimen collection, testing, and minor treatment as directed by physicians; provide education to patients based on their learning needs.
- Scheduling and Communication: Schedule patient testing, pre-certify insurance requirements, and respond to telephone messages.
- Inventory Management: Check expired supplies and medication, stock rooms, and maintain inventory in exam/procedure rooms.
- Administrative Tasks: Prepare exam/procedure rooms, notify patients of test results, and follow up as instructed by physicians.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Valid license as Licensed Practical Nurse in CT.
- BLS Certification.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Minimum of 2 years previous experience in a similar position preferred.
