About the Position:

This role is located in San Antonio, Texas, and is part of the Defense Health Agency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Privacy Impact Assessments, Privacy Act Statements, and System of Records Notices.
  • Provide guidance on managing and protecting Personally Identifiable Information.
  • Conduct site visits to assess program compliance with the Agency Privacy Program.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliance program.
  • Coordinate strategic and operational planning, organizing, staffing, decision support, and policy development.
  • Perform or direct the performance of various studies, including trending and statistical analyses, for performance monitoring and decision making.
  • Develop, recommend, and implement budgetary policies affecting the financing and accomplishments of important programs/projects.
Requirements:
  • One year of specialized experience in a medical organization or network, ensuring compliance with governing regulations, such as HIPAA.
  • Experience in reviewing legislation for impact to medical facilities and patient care.
Additional Information:

Direct Deposit of Pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. Relocation incentives MAY be authorized for highly qualified candidates. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Advanced leave accrual may be authorized. Student Loan repayment may be authorized.
