Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Associate Director, Financial Control to join our team at Cook County Government. This is a critical role that requires a strong background in financial planning, budgeting, and control.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, recommend, and implement financial policies and procedures related to Department/Bureau finances.
  • Lead the development of complex financial plans and budgets, including cash flow projections and financial reporting.
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to entry-level managers and supervisors.
  • Collaborate with leadership to determine department-wide budgets and provide timely financial information for presentation and review.
  • Compile, analyze, and present annual budget reports, including review of financial data and trends.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • At least six years of experience in budget, finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • Four years of previous management or supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or other financial systems-based products.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to create and manage operating and financial processes, meet deadlines, and achieve results with available resources.
Veteran's Preference

Cook County Government offers a preference in the application process to honorably discharged Veterans who have served in the Armed Forces of the United States for more than 180 consecutive days, or during War Time.
