We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Fund Accountant to join our team at J Harlan Group, LLC. As a key member of our investment management firm, you will be responsible for supporting portfolio/partnership fund accounting across our funds and firm.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the financial records of various entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules, utilizing advanced Excel skills.
  • Record monthly journal entries and prepare bank reconciliations, demonstrating attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Facilitate and complete monthly close procedures, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Analyze revenues and expenses to ensure they are recorded appropriately on a monthly basis, providing insightful financial analysis.
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Assist with bank covenants, financial and tax audits, and tax administration, demonstrating a strong understanding of accounting principles.
Requirements
  • Accounting/Finance experience, including relevant Portfolio/Fund Accounting experience, with a preference for experience at a private equity, hedge fund manager, fund administrator, or public accounting organization.
  • A strong understanding of accounting theory and practice, with advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
  • A bachelor's or higher degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a strong academic record.
