Job Title: Staff Accountant Position

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join our finance team at LHH Recruitment Solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and financial analysis, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

* Organize, maintain, and analyze multiple company's accounting records, general ledger accounts, and financial statements.
* Prepare journal entries, analysis, and participate in monthly close processes.
* Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
* Prepare sales tax returns and reconciliation periodically as prescribed by taxing authority and accounting calendar.
* Respond to information requests and review financial statements.
* Support the annual financial audit and other state and local regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

* Associate or bachelor's degree in business or accounting or equivalent work experience.
* 2+ years' work experience in AR, AP, or as a staff accountant.
* Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, with Great Plains software experience preferred.
* Heavy in Excel (pivot tables, vlookups).
* Exceptional analytical skills to assess problems and develop solutions.
* Excellent judgement, strong organizational skills, and a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to function effectively in meeting deadlines and follow through.
* Ability to manage high volume activity during busy times of the month/year.
* Intermediate level or higher computer skills in a paperless environment.
* Ability to deal with frequent change, or unexpected events in a professional and diplomatic manner.
