Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Air Combat Command. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing operations and maintenance engineering duties in support of our military installation.
Key Responsibilities- Perform O&M engineering involving design and construction that encompasses the maintenance, repair, upgrade, and operation of infrastructure facilities, including utility systems.
- Plan, program, budget, and execute required projects in support of assigned programs.
- Conduct planning and design work for substantial sustainment, modernization, repair, improvement, renovations, and construction projects for real property facilities, including utility systems.
- Manage projects for new construction, renovations, and improvements to real property facilities and maintain surveillance over in-house labor or construction contractors.
- Provide consulting services and project coordination.
- Coordinate life cycle plans, operations, and maintenance initiatives and projects with other engineers in various disciplines, architects, and planners.
- One year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems.
- Professional knowledge of mechanical engineering concepts, principles, and practices applicable to a broad range of engineering, construction management, life cycle management, etc.
- Knowledge of design and construction practices and techniques in establishing design parameters and preparing project justifications and specifications.
- Knowledge of drafting techniques and conventions and drafting skills sufficient to convey design concepts and ideas and formulate working drawings.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the installation/command mission and organization.
- Knowledge of automated data processing concepts, systems capabilities, and economic usage to effectively accomplish assigned functions.
- Knowledge of program planning and budgeting cycles, financial control, and budget systems and management.
- Ability to plan, conduct, and record site/facilities surveys and inspection.
- Ability to analyze, interpret, and apply results, rules, regulations, and procedures in a variety of situations and recommend timely and economical solutions.
