Membership Ambassador

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Membership Representative to join our team at the YMCA of Virginia's Blue Ridge. As a key member of our membership team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional service to our members, guests, and program participants, contributing to member retention and growth.

• Provide excellent service to members, guests, and program participants, responding to their needs and promoting memberships and programs.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the lobby area, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment.
• Conduct interviews and tours to engage prospective members and promote our services.
• Process membership sales, renewals, and prospect follow-up as directed.
• Build relationships with members, helping them connect with each other and the YMCA.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure member satisfaction and provide a seamless experience.

• CPR/AED and First Aid certifications required within 30 days of hire.
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people.
• Previous customer service, sales, or related experience preferred but not required.
• Flexibility to work evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and make non-routine decisions.
• Effective team-building and leadership skills.

The physical demands of this role include walking, standing, kneeling, and stooping. You must be able to lift, pull, and move up to 50 pounds and stand or sit for long periods. You must also be physically able to complete required certifications.
