Job Summary

The City of Nampa is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Building Custodian II to join our team. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing custodial cleaning and light building maintenance of City buildings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain buildings and grounds by cleaning, sweeping, mopping, dusting, polishing, and vacuuming, including scrubbing, spot cleaning carpets and disinfecting, emptying, cleaning and lining waste receptacles and disposing of trash.
  • Check assigned areas for maintenance needs and perform minor repair functions, checking with supervisor and arranging for repairs of more involved needs.
  • Secure buildings by locking doors, turning off lights, closing windows, and reporting suspicious or unauthorized individuals.
  • Assume responsibility for other duties as required or assigned and attend meetings, conferences, workshops, and training sessions to become and remain current on principles, practices, and new developments in assigned work areas.
Requirements
  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • 3+ years of experience in custodial work and/or any combination of experience and training which provides the equivalent scope of knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work.
  • Ability to operate a personal computer using standard or customized software applications appropriate to assigned tasks and the ability and willingness to quickly learn and put to use new skills and knowledge brought about by rapidly changing information and/or technology.
  • Valid State of Idaho Driver's License.
