About the Role

Pawnee Mental Health Services is seeking a skilled Psychiatric Registered Nurse to join our team in providing high-quality care to individuals struggling with substance use disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Onsite Nursing Support: Collaborate with medical staff to deliver comprehensive care to patients, adhering to the scope of your license and certification.
  • Medication Management: Administer buprenorphine to patients and manage their care during this process.
  • Substance Use Recovery Support: Offer guidance and resources to clients on substance use recovery, including lockboxes, Narcan training, and agency resources.
  • Medication Phone Calls and Emails: Respond to patient inquiries regarding medication information, side effects, and other concerns.
  • Injection Administration: Order and administer injections on a weekly basis.
  • Vital Sign Monitoring: Take vital signs for all in-office patient visits.
Additional Duties
  • Sample Medication Management: Manage sample medications received from medical sales representatives.
  • Client Assistance: Assist clients with applications for patient assistance programs offered by pharmaceutical companies.
Requirements
  • Current RN Certification: Possess an active, unencumbered Kansas Registered Nurse (RN) certification.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills in the English language.
  • Psychotropic Medication Knowledge: Have a solid understanding of psychotropic medications and the specific needs of substance use patients.
  • Nursing Experience: Possess at least 2 years of nursing experience.
  • Basic Computing Skills: Demonstrate basic personal computing skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • BSN Degree: Hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.
  • MAT Experience: Have prior experience with Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT).
  • Bi-lingual Capabilities: Possess bi-lingual capabilities.
  • Microsoft Office Skills: Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
