The Department of Critical Care Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh has recently joined its resources with those at UPMC Hamot. Our vision is to create a world-class regional center of excellence for the care of critically ill patients at UPMC Hamot. This association will allow our critical care services to leverage the expertise of more than 50 years of critical care training, research, and care. We aim to facilitate the realization of a system of critical care that provides the highest quality of care while emphasizing a culture of teamwork, patient safety, cutting-edge best practices, family support, and adaptability to a rapidly changing landscape.

We are looking for a highly skilled physician to coordinate care with sub-specialists and provide supervision for a full staff of highly trained critical care Physician Assistants. The successful candidate should have completed fellowship training and be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Critical Care Medicine.

This is a full-time position with flexible 14-hour night shifts monthly (2,016 hours annually). Coverage includes Trauma, Surgical, Kidney Transplant, Medical, Neuro, and Cardiovascular ICU beds. The candidate will also have the opportunity to teach medical students, residents, and staff.

In addition to a competitive base salary commensurate with experience/training, the successful candidate can expect:
