AvaMed Workforce is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our team at a correctional facility in Stockton, CA.
Job Summary:
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Clinical Psychologist to provide mental health services to inmates at our correctional facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical psychology and experience working with diverse populations.
Responsibilities:
- Consult with supervisors and treatment team members to develop and implement treatment plans for inmates.
- Document all care provided to inmates, including face-to-face contacts and Interdisciplinary Treatment Team meetings.
- Monitor inmate progress using CDCR Mental Health approved documentation formatting for progress notes.
- Apply community standards of practice for non-medical treatment modalities and ethical standards.
- Perform mental status exams and conduct face-to-face clinical interviews.
- Examine prior mental health records and other available documents to assist in the formulation of patient diagnoses and treatment plans.
- Conduct mental health education and develop additional resources for mentally ill and sex offender patients.
- Assist patients in applying for entitlement benefits and community programs.
- Facilitate patient transitions between various settings within the institution.
- Perform pre-release functions, including patient education and facilitating transition to county mental health and community mental health treatment programs.
- Participate in IDTT meetings and compile and analyze data from audits pertaining to the mental health program.
- Provide written reports and consult with the Board of Prison Hearings and other CDCR staff.
- Develop a therapeutic relationship with patients, families, and caregivers to enhance effective treatment delivery.
- Represent the Department at formal and informal settings regarding mental health matters related to clinical social work.
- Protect and maintain safety and security of property, including documentation of unusual occurrences and inventory control of psychological testing material.
Requirements:
A valid Psychologist license by the California State Board of Psychology is required. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical psychology and experience working with diverse populations.
