2G Bariatrics/Plastics: This surgical unit specializes in plastic reconstruction and flaps, including neurovascular monitoring for procedures such as limb reattachment, management of complex wounds (including vacuum dressings), sacral flaps, free flaps, breast reconstruction, and tram flaps, in addition to caring for bariatric surgical patients, gynecology, and general surgery cases.
Responsibilities include managing extensive dressings, utilizing specialized beds, administering medications, overseeing tracheostomy care, handling drains, performing wound and oral suctioning, operating vacuum pumps, IV fluid administration, IV analgesia, PAC, and IV pain management, capnography, leech therapy, chest tube management, and NG suctioning along with Keofed/GT tube feedings.
Qualifications:
Licensure/Certification/Registry:
Must hold a valid RN license in the State of Illinois.
Current BLS/CPR certification in accordance with policy.
Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Must be capable of positioning and/or transferring an average adult patient and possess the physical coordination necessary to perform various patient care tasks as required.
Environmental working conditions may involve exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissues, as well as contagious diseases and/or potentially hazardous materials.
