Job Summary:

The ideal candidate will be skilled in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating communication disorders in a school setting. This role involves working closely with students, teachers, and parents to enhance student communication skills and support their academic and social development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments for students to identify communication disorders and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Therapeutic Interventions: Provide direct therapy to students with speech and language impairments, including articulation, fluency, voice disorders, and language delays.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, parents, and other school staff to integrate therapy goals into classroom activities and support student learning.
  • Program Development: Develop and implement speech and language programs that align with the school's curriculum and meet students' needs.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, therapy sessions, and evaluations. Prepare and present reports as required.
  • Consultation: Offer guidance and training to school staff on strategies to support students with communication difficulties and promote an inclusive learning environment.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to all federal and state regulations, as well as school policies and procedures related to speech and language services.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Certification: Valid state licensure in Speech-Language Pathology and Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience working as an SLP in a school setting is highly desirable.
  • Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and school personnel.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with state and federal regulations related to special education and speech-language services.
