Job Overview

Freestate Electrical Company is in search of a skilled Lead Electrical Cost Estimator. This role is pivotal in our estimating department and encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to:

  1. Conducting quantity take-offs and formulating precise cost estimates.
  2. Developing comprehensive cost estimates for projects.
  3. Preparing budget estimates based on schematic drawings, electrical narratives, and design development documents.
  4. Reviewing bid package documentation, plans, and proposal specifications to ascertain the scope of work and necessary contents of estimates for RFPs, RFQs, and quotes.
  5. Participating in site visits as needed.
  6. Drafting Scope letters for General Contractor review.

Qualifications:

1. Proven experience in commercial electrical estimating is essential.

2. Ability to work autonomously or collaboratively within a team to meet project timelines.

3. Self-motivated with a keen attention to detail.

4. Strong mathematical and analytical capabilities.

5. Effective written and verbal communication skills.

6. Experience in bidding projects across both public and private sectors, from tenant fit-outs to heavy industrial projects.

7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

8. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects/tasks concurrently.

9. Familiarity with Accubid Estimating Software is required.

10. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Estimating.
