Job Overview

Hospice of the Piedmont is seeking a full-time Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide exceptional care to patients in their homes during their final stages of life. This role is vital in delivering comfort, support, and assistance to patients and their families during this sensitive time.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver direct patient care according to the individualized care plan established by the interdisciplinary team, including assistance with daily living activities, personal hygiene, and comfort measures.
  • Monitor and report any changes in patient condition or behavior to the hospice nurse.
  • Assist with patient mobility and transfers as required.
  • Accurately document all care provided and any changes in patient condition in a timely manner.
  • Offer emotional support and companionship to patients and their families.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure the highest standards of care.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.
  • Uphold patient rights and confidentiality at all times.
Qualifications:
  • Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in Virginia.
  • Experience in hospice care or a similar environment is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices related to direct patient care.
  • Compassionate and empathetic demeanor with the ability to provide emotional support.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team setting.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Physical stamina to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.
