Job Summary

Community Services for Children is seeking a highly skilled Intake Specialist to provide families with early learning resources and support their child's future success. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for responding to inquiries, assessing family needs, and providing local resources and referrals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to families of young children, responding to inquiries and addressing their needs in a friendly and comprehensive manner.
  • Needs Assessment: Meet with families to conduct a thorough needs assessment, providing information, resources, and referrals to support their child's development.
  • Resource Development: Develop expertise knowledge of community resources, including eligibility requirements for early education and human services programs.
  • Application Support: Assist families with completing the Child Care Works application and coordinate schedules for face-to-face application interviews for Head Start/Early Head Start/Pre-K Counts.
  • Record Keeping: Document work and maintain accurate records utilizing appropriate databases and/or electronic file systems.
  • Translation and Interpretation: Provide translation and interpretation services as needed and assigned.
  • Support Services: Provide back-up support to the front desk Facilities Operations Support Specialist to cover lunches, vacation, and other times as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma/GED or Associates Degree in Social Service, Business, or Computer Science preferred.
  • Language Skills: Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
  • Experience: Two years of related customer service experience.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office programs, proficient with using databases, software, record tracking systems.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work with individuals of varying economic, educational, and cultural backgrounds.
  • Driver's License: Valid driver's license, full-time use of vehicle.
