Fortis Fire & Safety Inc. is seeking a skilled Fire Suppression Specialist to join our team. As a Fire Suppression Specialist, you will be responsible for installing, servicing, and inspecting fire suppression systems to ensure the safety of our clients and their properties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation, service, and inspection of fire suppression systems
- Completion of all necessary paperwork associated with service and inspections
- Communication with customers after each call to explain work performed
- Ensuring timely job completion
- Daily communication with project managers and/or schedule coordinators on inspection or project delays, requirements, and general status of job
- Participation in on-call rotation
- Mentoring technicians on tools and technology
Requirements:
- Familiarity with suppression systems and fire extinguishers, Florida Fire Prevention Code, and local building codes
- Proficiency in the use of computers and smartphones, specifically Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Apple iOS, and Google Android
- High level of troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Organized, motivated, and able to work with minimum supervision
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record
Compensation:
$18-$20/hour training rate. Experienced technicians make $50,000 - $90,000 base plus commission.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is frequently required to stand for 8 hours, walk, sit, and climb stairs, or balance. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee will need to be able to withstand working in temperatures that may exceed 100 degrees. The employee will need to have the ability to walk in excess of 1 mile in a day.
