Job Summary

The Financial Planning Team at Valmark Financial Group is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Financial Planner. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting senior team members and Member Office financial professionals with the day-to-day workflow of financial planning cases and research.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the financial planning queue by analyzing client facts, modeling cash flows, and developing recommendations using Valmark's proprietary financial planning processes.
  • Assist senior team members with case set up and annual revisions, ensuring accurate and complete information about the products being recommended.
  • Serve as an insurance/annuity carrier liaison for Valmark Member Offices, establishing relationships to thoroughly understand advisor preferences and client needs.
  • Conduct industry research to develop tools, resources, and marketing materials, such as presentations, white-papers, and video content.
  • Develop a working knowledge of financial planning topics, including retirement planning, estate planning, and insurance.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Strong computer and Microsoft Office skills, with emphasis on Excel and Outlook
  • Customer service and relationship building skills, with ability to communicate effectively via phone, video, and in-person
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment and respond to time-sensitive requests
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2-4 years of industry experience
  • CFP Professional or willingness to obtain
  • FINRA Series 7 or willingness to obtain
  • Ohio Life and Health Insurance License or willingness to obtain
Work Environment

This is a largely sedentary role, with occasional local travel required. The position requires flexibility in working hours, with the expectation of working 40 hours per week to maintain full-time status.
