We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Supervisor to join our team at Shields Manufacturing. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our CNC machining department, ensuring efficient production processes and high-quality products.
Main Responsibilities:
- Production Planning and Supervision: Plan, coordinate, and supervise the production activities of the CNC machining department, ensuring that all tasks are completed on time and to the required quality standards.
- Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a team of skilled machinists and technicians, providing guidance, training, and feedback to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their jobs effectively.
- Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and repair of CNC machines, ensuring they are in good working order and performing at optimal levels.
- Quality Control: Conduct regular quality inspections and audits to ensure that products meet the required standards and specifications.
- Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency, productivity, and quality.
Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or trade school certificate in a related field preferred.
- Experience: Seven years of experience as a journeyman machinist, with preferred experience in CAD/CAM and leadership roles.
- Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and train staff members. Proficiency in MS Windows environment, data collection software, and ERP system. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical data, schematics, prints, and travelers.
- Physical Demands: Frequent walking, bending, stooping, handling, fingering, and reaching; occasional kneeling, climbing, and squatting required. Ability to lift and pull up to 15 pounds continuously and from 15 to 25 pounds frequently.
