About the Job

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Telecommunications Infrastructure Specialist to join our team in Columbus, OH. As a critical member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for managing all phases of data center installation projects from start to finish.

 

Responsibilities and Requirements
  • Manage all aspects of data center installation projects, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results.
  • Think strategically and demonstrate strong leadership skills to drive project success.
  • Assume ownership of projects from receipt of engineering work packages to delivery of final documentation.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and deliver projects according to client expectations.

 

Qualifications and Skills
  • 3-5 years of relevant industry experience with a focus on telecommunications infrastructure.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
  • Hold total responsibility for job layout and plan of execution, staying current with latest technologies and installation procedures.
  • Have a thorough understanding of the scope of work and be able to accurately complete all required paperwork.
  • Be able to run small, medium, and large projects as needed, with full competence in quality installation craftsmanship and customer service excellence.
  • Be proficient in installing and terminating various copper and fiber products in accordance with TIA/EIA standards and BICSI standards.
  • Be knowledgeable in testing and troubleshooting of copper and fiber cable plant systems in accordance with TIA/EIA standards and BICSI standards.
  • Be able to direct teams in assembling, installing, and securing cable trays, racks, and cabinets used in telecommunications closets.
  • Understand basic principles of grounding and bonding as described in BICSI installation methods and be capable of properly bonding cable trays and grounding racks, etc.
  • Be knowledgeable in the proper operation of Vision's Cat5, Cat5E, Cat6 testers, including saving test results and downloading and storing test results on the network.
  • Be knowledgeable in the proper operation of Vision's fiber power meter testers, including saving test results and downloading and storing test results on the network.
  • Be knowledgeable in the proper operation of OTDRs, including saving test results and downloading and storing test results on the network.
  • Be fully capable of interpreting test results from fiber and copper testers and successfully troubleshooting and repairing the fiber or copper cable plant to ensure correct and valid tests.
  • Ability to drive company vehicle throughout the day.
  • Knowledge of fiber terms and troubleshooting is required.

Education and Certifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • BICSI and industry certifications preferred.

Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
