Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Henry Ford Health System. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our pharmacists in delivering high-quality services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide distributive pharmacy services and technical support to pharmacists, including hazardous drug compounding, medication history, nuclear, and Patient Assistance Program (PAP) services.
  • Refill and maintain automated dispensing systems, prepare orders, maintain inventory, and repackage bulk medications.
  • Receive and store incoming supplies, and serve as a liaison between pharmacy, patient, and health professionals by providing necessary information.
  • Communicate with external resources, including retail pharmacies, provider officers, and data exchanges, to identify and assist with patient medication access.
  • Assist pharmacists in preparation of patient education materials and may give immunizations in accordance with state laws.
Requirements
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience, or Associate's degree/Technical degree, or 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience.
  • Graduate of pharmacy tech program preferred.
  • One or more of the following certifications: Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Michigan Board of Pharmacy, Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB), or National Healthcareer Association.
