American Medical Staffing (AMS) is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our corrections medical team in Independence, Virginia.
This is a medium security state run prison with a maximum capacity of 1,024 inmates. As a Registered Nurse in a correctional care setting, you'll play a crucial role in providing comprehensive healthcare services to incarcerated individuals, promoting their well-being and rehabilitation.
Responsibilities include:
- Assessing patient health status, developing care plans, and implementing nursing interventions as needed
- Administering medications and treatments according to physician orders and established protocols
- Monitoring patient vital signs, symptoms, and responses to treatment, adjusting care plans as necessary
- Collaborating with healthcare team members, correctional staff, and community resources to ensure continuity of care
- Documenting patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely
