Job Overview
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) serves as a vital member of the healthcare team, providing compassionate and comprehensive care under the supervision of the Charge Nurse. The CNA is responsible for delivering safe, age-appropriate support to residents by performing essential care tasks such as Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), mobility assistance, monitoring vital signs, and executing approved technical procedures. The work schedule may vary based on the needs of the unit.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Duties
Commitment to Exceptional Customer Service by collaborating with the healthcare team, residents, and their families. - Upholds the rights and dignity of residents at all times. - Maintains confidentiality and privacy. - Engages in resident rounding as per established standards. - Responds promptly to telephone calls and call lights, notifying the appropriate personnel of any needs for follow-up. - Addresses resident concerns and promptly informs the Charge Nurse or manager of any complaints. - Actively offers assistance and comfort to residents and their families. - Presents oneself in a professional manner, demonstrating sensitivity to the concerns and needs of others. Resident-Centered Care - Deliver care in accordance with the individualized Plan of Care. - Attend to basic resident needs (e.g., hygiene, nutrition, elimination, comfort measures) as assigned. - Assist the Charge Nurse and other healthcare team members in care delivery as needed. - Provide meals and nourishment in alignment with dietary standards and the Plan of Care. - Measure and document vital signs, reporting any unusual findings to the Charge Nurse. - Ensure timely documentation of all patient care delivered as per policy. Maintain a Safe and Organized Environment - Perform basic housekeeping tasks in the immediate vicinity of the resident's room and bathroom. - Clean and sanitize personal care items (e.g., bedpans, urinals) according to policy and standards. - Identify and mitigate safety hazards related to fall risks, such as cords, oxygen tubing, and clutter. - Ensure proper display of oxygen signage and correct storage of oxygen tanks. - Utilize bedrails, bed alarms, and personal alarms appropriately, encouraging family and visitors to do the same. Ensure Residents Have Necessary Supplies - Stock essential medical supplies and skin care products in the resident care area. - Ensure that linens and incontinence supplies are adequately stocked in the resident's room. Provide Emotional Support to Residents and Families - Take time to listen and build rapport. - Acknowledge and respect the family's role as decision-makers and caregivers. - Recognize the inherent value of each resident's life. - Offer a calming presence. - Observe and respect any religious or cultural practices of the resident or family.

Required Minimum Education
High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Required Minimum Licenses and Certifications
Certified Nurse Assistant is required. Basic Life Support certification is required. BLS Instructor certification is preferred. BLS Provisional certification is also required.

Additional Licenses and Certifications

Required Minimum Experience:
Preferred experience of less than 1 year in a related field.

Must complete orientation and demonstrate proficiency in required functions and tasks related to resident care. Ability to read, interpret, and understand verbal instructions is essential. Must possess the ability to write routine reports and correspondence, as well as comprehend medical terminology. Basic math skills are necessary. Must be able to perform effectively under stressful conditions, demonstrating patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, along with the willingness to manage challenging residents and family members.
