Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nursing Support Specialist to join our team at West Virginia University Health System. As a key member of our outpatient care team, you will provide high-quality nursing support to our patients and physicians.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients in an outpatient medical office setting.
  • Administer medications as ordered and accurately record patient information.
  • Consult with physicians and registered nurses to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Perform designated therapeutic procedures and assist with examinations and procedures as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Participate in problem-solving and decision-making to ensure staffing and patient needs are met.
Requirements
  • Current licensure with the WV Board of Practical Nursing or equivalent state board.
  • Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment and provide excellent patient care.
Working Environment

This position requires the ability to work in a standard clinical environment with high patient volume. You will be frequently exposed to bloodborne pathogens, bodily fluids, toxins, and chemicals.
