Job Summary:

The Machinist III position at Waukesha Foundry is a critical role that requires a high level of expertise in programming and operating machine tools. As a key member of the Machine Shop team, the successful candidate will be responsible for writing, reviewing, and editing machine programs for 2-axis lathes and mills using Gibbs Cam Programming.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Programming and Operations: Write, review, and edit machine programs for 2-axis lathes and mills, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in production.
  • Tooling and Inventory Management: Select and manage tooling, consumables, and inventory to prevent delays in production and ensure smooth operations.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with Design Engineers, Quality Personnel, and other operators to ensure parts meet dimensional requirements and quality standards.
  • Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve issues with machine tools, programs, and production processes to minimize downtime and optimize productivity.
  • Schedule Adherence: Run machines and adhere to the machine shop schedule to meet production targets and deadlines.

Requirements:

  • Education and Experience: High school education or equivalent, with a minimum of 10 years of programming experience preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in CAD/CAM software and basic understanding of GD&T.
  • Soft Skills: Good math skills, positive outlook, and a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.

Working Conditions:

The Machinist III position is a 2nd shift role, working Tuesday through Friday from 2pm to Midnight. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with a focus on quality, safety, and productivity.
