Job Title: Pre-Operative Registered Nurse

Village SurgiCenter - Erie is seeking a skilled and compassionate Pre-Operative Registered Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our surgical center, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and safe transition of patients through the pre-operative process.

Job Summary:

The Pre-Operative Registered Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality patient care and support to patients undergoing surgical procedures. This includes assessing patient needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient flow.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assessment and Care Planning: Conduct thorough assessments of patients to identify their physical and emotional needs, and develop and implement individualized care plans to address these needs.
  • Medication Administration: Administer medications and treatments as ordered by the physician, and monitor patients for any adverse reactions.
  • Pre-Operative Preparation: Prepare patients for surgery by explaining the procedure, answering questions, and addressing any concerns or anxieties.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care and coordination.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Accurately document patient information, including medical history, medications, and treatment plans, in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
  • Education and Experience: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current Registered Nurse licensure and experience in a surgical setting.
  • Skills and Abilities: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in electronic medical records and other healthcare software.
  • Certifications and Training: Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications, with ongoing education and training in areas such as patient safety and quality improvement.
