POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
The Nurse Practitioner is an integral member of the healthcare team, delivering both primary and specialized medical services. This role encompasses preventive care and continuous health management for designated patient populations.
The Nurse Practitioner operates in diverse environments, from outpatient clinics to inpatient facilities, and is involved in the care of patients who are well, acutely ill, or managing chronic conditions.
EDUCATION
The ideal candidate is a Registered Professional Nurse who has advanced training and expertise acquired through an accredited post-basic or advanced educational program recognized by the Board of Nurse Examiners. A Master's degree in nursing is highly preferred. A minimum of three years of nursing experience is essential, with two years in advanced practice being advantageous. Certification from a national nursing organization is recommended. A current CPR Healthcare Provider card or a higher level of certification is mandatory as per Medical-Dental Staff Bylaws.
LICENSURE
The candidate must hold a valid Registered Nurse license in Texas and be credentialed by the State to function as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner. Possession of prescriptive authority is recommended.
