Job Title: Welder

The Ulven Companies is seeking a skilled Welder to join our team in Hubbard, Oregon. As a key member of our production process, you will be responsible for performing various welding and fabrication processes to achieve precise and durable metal joints.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform welding operations, including setting up equipment, selecting techniques, and welding metal components according to specifications.
  • Understand and interpret engineered drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols to carry out welding tasks accurately.
  • Regularly inspect and maintain welding equipment, tools, and machinery to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Inspect welded joints and finished products to ensure that customer, industry, and organizational quality standards and specifications are met.
  • Adhere to safety procedures, guidelines, and regulations to ensure a safe work environment for oneself and others.
  • Prepare materials for welding by cleaning, cutting, and shaping them as required.
  • Work closely with other team members, such as machinists, engineers, and quality control personnel, to achieve project goals.
  • Identify and resolve welding issues, such as defects in welds, equipment malfunctions, or material inconsistencies.
  • Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and some robotic welding techniques, including understanding the differences between them and when to apply each method.
  • Maintain accurate records of welding activities, including materials used, welding parameters, and any quality control measurements.
  • Seek opportunities for skills development and training to enhance welding capabilities and efficiency.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years of welding experience.
  • Proficiency in MIG welding processes.
  • TIG and robotic welding experience, a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand the differences between welding techniques (MIG, TIG, robotic) and aptitude for determining the appropriate method for specific welding applications.
  • Basic understanding of metals and fabrication processes.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols.
  • Knowledge of welding safety procedures.
  • Ability to effectively use welding tools and equipment.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills in welding operations.
  • Effective communication skills for teamwork.
  • Good hand-eye coordination for precise welding work.
Work Environment:

The work is done in an industrial environment. Lifting and/or carrying, reaching, pushing/pulling heavy objects, equipment, materials, or parts up to 50 lbs., over 75 lbs. with assistance. Regularly required to twist or bend. Repetitively and precisely handle tools, parts, and equipment with hands or fingers. Frequently bend or stoop to access equipment, and reach overhead, when necessary. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Hand-eye coordination is essential for tasks such as operating machinery, aligning parts, and performing quality checks. Able to hear and verbally communicate effectively with coworkers is crucial for safety and productivity. The ability to navigate around the manufacturing floor, climb stairs, and react quickly to changing conditions is important. Regularly required to stand for prolonged periods. Occasionally sitting, kneeling, crouching, or crawling depending on the task at hand. Regularly exposed to unusual elements, such as high temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, steam, humidity, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises and vibration. Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): This could include safety glasses, ear protection, gloves, steel-toed boots, and other gear to ensure worker safety.

Compensation:

$26-$32/hour DOE
