Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist customers in selecting and purchasing items, providing personalized recommendations and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Operate and maintain a cash register, accurately handling transactions and managing cash and credit card payments.
  • Prepare and deliver bank deposits, balancing the cash register drawer and maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and provide assistance with donations, maintaining a positive and courteous demeanor at all times.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of merchandise and displays, ensuring a visually appealing store environment.
  • Secure merchandise and the cash register area, adhering to safety and security protocols.
  • Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning windows and mirrors, and maintaining overall store cleanliness.
  • Answer the store telephone in a professional and courteous manner, responding to customer inquiries and resolving any issues that may arise.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience working in a retail environment, preferably in a customer-facing role.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in the English language.
  • Basic math skills and ability to accurately handle cash and credit card transactions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meeting attendance and performance expectations.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for long periods, walk, and move around the store.
  • Ability to lift, bend, and reach, occasionally lifting objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a normal store environment, with minimal physical discomforts associated with weather changes.
