Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will provide professional support services to the United States Coast Guard, including electrical engineering design, shore infrastructure maintenance, construction, improvement, and alteration projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project management and technical support for electrical engineering design and construction projects
  • Design and preparation of technical specifications, cost estimates, and other documents for complex construction projects
  • Technical advice and reviews for contracting officers during negotiations
  • Site inspections and data gathering for new or renovation work
  • Electrical engineering advice and reviews for in-house and site personnel
  • Update of enterprise database system for budgeting, project execution, and construction submittal reviews
  • Coordination with site contacts and multi-discipline design team members
  • Conceptual design meetings with in-house and site personnel
  • Support services to architectural and engineering designers in Coast Guard specific project documentation functions
  • Review and comment on submittals, requests for information, and work schedules as submitted by construction contractors
  • Preparation of procurement packages associated with design and award packages
Requirements
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must be able to pass a Tier 1 background investigation
  • Must possess a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or registration as a professional electrical engineer in a state, District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico
  • Must possess a minimum of five years' experience working in the electrical engineering field
  • Extensive experience utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Office, computer-aided design (CAD)
Desired Qualifications
  • Licensed Electrical Engineer or other industry-standard professional licensure related
