Job Summary:

As a Respiratory Therapist with Christus Health, you will play a vital role in the pulmonary care of critically ill adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients. Working under the direction of a physician with minimal supervision, you will perform various technical and diagnostic respiratory therapy procedures in all areas of the hospital.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform patient assessments and institute respiratory care plans.
  • Manage ventilators, including setup and operation.
  • Deliver oxygen therapy and monitor patients' responses.
  • Analyze chest films, blood gas samples, and EKGs.
  • Clean and stock equipment and supplies as needed.
  • Participate in CAP and JC surveys.
  • May serve as Shift Leader or Team Leader.
  • Manage therapeutic gas delivery and monitoring.
  • Perform pulmonary function testing, hemodynamic monitoring, and waveform analysis.
  • Conduct polysomnography.

Requirements:

  • RCP License in the state of employment required.
  • CRT certification through the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) required.

Work Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 6AM - 6PM, with per diem opportunities as needed.
